Kimi ni Todoke is about a girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She is nicknamed Sadako (from the ring) because many people see her as strange and often mistake her for a ghost. A boy called Kazehaya kun becomes her friend and, to her, is "100% refreshness."
Kuronuma Sawako is nicknamed Sadako due to her resemblance to the girl from the Japanese horror movies "The Ring". Shunned by her classmates, her life starts to change as she befriends Shōta Kazehaya, a very popular boy in her class.
Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror. She admires her classmate, Kazehaya-kun, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her.

I just read that there was only going to be 12 episodes sad.gif Does this mean that they are only going to go through the first 2 books? Sort of like Video Girl AI...

After watching episode 7, here is what I think:
I still like Kazehaya, but Ryuu is so sweet, I never realized it before. Kazehaya is lovable in his own way, he is friendly and outgoing in a very natural way. But boy, I love the taciturn yet sweet types. Hihihihi.... anyways, I think Ryuu & Chizuru is imminent.

@JCD I also thought, that the scene with the boyfriend was very weird. She didnt look happy he called her, looks like serious trouble is brewing.

I wanted to at least watch episode 07 after finishing off Darker than BLACK Season 1 and Bounen no Xamdou(aka X'amd: Lost Memories) today. rolleyes.gif

This episode was great as it gives us an insight of the pairings, the affections between the characters and the problems that are to come.....such as Yano's current boyfriend being so suspicious of her and the case I like best is RyuxChizuru.....it gets complicated as you will find out later in the series. rolleyes.gif

I love this anime and the manga......it is truly heart-warming.....I'm gonna have a good sleep before getting up tomorrow to have a full day of lectures tomorrow. wink.gif biggrin.gif

just watched the 7th
theres alot going on with sawako yoshida and yano if you look back at it
kazehayas frustration is pretty entertaining
when sawako went to sit with yano and yoshida he looked like a kid getting his candy stolen of which he was then taunted by them
theyre gonna be a splendid pair smile.gif

just watched the 6th episode ..... o good episodes but still a little dragged one ..... would have been great if they could have shouwn everything they shoed in the epsiode in just 10 12 mins ..... but the other 5 epsiodes till now were awesome ...... looking forward to next epsiode. It is just me or the opening song of this anime is starting to drive me crazy ..... i am just falling in love with the opening song ... i am liking it more and more every time i hear it.

A great episode. It was really good to see them all together again.
Ryuu ist just awesome. The whole time completely calm but when he talks its a great fun ^^

Im looking forward to the festival and I wonder what will happen with Kurumi and Yanos Boyfriend.

Just finished 6 and am in a really good mood now. Even though I consider this series a Josie/shoujo anime (not sure which age group this one falls in) I really enjoy it. Sawako is very lovable and I really like the simple (so far) yet emotional story.

Seems we have a few players for Kazehaya that were introduced. really interested in the direction and development with this!!

Typical male fandom at its finest... tongue.gif Glad this tedious part of the story is way over. I was getting a bit annoyed at how they dragged on it for like ever! I could not help but think, "gee, was I this insecure when I was a teenager?" Of course, that blond chick started the rumors, hello? So obvious. She is a real evil one and I am sure she has more up her sleeve.
And I agree, our Sweetie-kun, handled it all just fine...he's got it going on, after all. Glad too, that Sawako-chan showed she has a pair... tongue.gif Well, most of the time, anyway. rolleyes.gif

I liked it how Kazehaya didn't try to rescue 'the damsel in distress' so to speak. It was good self-awareness on his part to understand this was an issue that Sawako, Yano, and Yoshida had to resolve themselves. I'll fully admit I would have started hating on him if he had interjected. I did have a good chuckle at the end of the episode when he put his hands on his head in anguish after realizing he's gonna have to share Sawako now lmao. I wanted to tell him don't worry buddy just play your cards right and you'll get some eventually... probably... not that it is all about that by any means... errr ummm nvm unsure.gif lol.

Even though I read the manga, I was surprised it wasn't the blond girl who started the rumours, I guess I forgot lol laugh.gif
The ending to the rumours arc was done quite nicely, I really loved the moments between Sawako and her new friends. Calling her Sawako at the end was a nice touch.
Overall this has easily become my favourite new show from the fall season.
