Kimi ni Todoke

Category: TV
Genre: Love-Romance
Year: 2009
Studio: Production I.G.

Kimi ni Todoke is about a girl named Kuronuma Sawako. She is nicknamed Sadako (from the ring) because many people see her as strange and often mistake her for a ghost. A boy called Kazehaya kun becomes her friend and, to her, is "100% refreshness."
Kuronuma Sawako is nicknamed Sadako due to her resemblance to the girl from the Japanese horror movies "The Ring". Shunned by her classmates, her life starts to change as she befriends Shōta Kazehaya, a very popular boy in her class.
Kuronuma Sawako’s one wish in life is to make friends. That’s a difficult proposition when everyone who meets her cowers in terror. She admires her classmate, Kazehaya-kun, a popular, easygoing and 100% refreshing guy who is nice with everyone, even with her.

you know when i first started watching this anime i thought it was gonna be boring and dumb. the more i watched sawako the more i got hooked on this show.i really hope they give this show a good ending and hope there is a second season. also i like to note that i really liked the chizu and ryu arc. it fleshed out there charaters more and i kinda felt sorry for chizu when ryu's brother showed up.

Good to see the anime getting back to Kazehaya and Sawako, even though I really want to see more of Ayane.

Ep 22 was sometimes not that good. I didnt really like the scenes with Sawako and her family. I hoped all the time that she would just say it.

But why are you saying only two more eps? I heard today that it is listed as 25 eps. (source ANN)

I just took a look at ANN, and Ossi it says that there are 25 episode titles but 24 is the number of episodes.... it kinda doesn't make sense though because I took a look at the list and there are two more titles after next weeks "Two People." But maybe the number of episodes is excluding the recap ep.

The recent Japan Television magazine has now listed the series as 25 episodes. So yes, we do have 3 more instead of 2.

I actually don't mind if it ends here, lets the manga get ahead and then continues with a 2nd season when there is a sufficient amount of material. I really love this show and I will be sad to see it end, it's one of the few I really look forward to every week. I like watching Sawako and Kazehaya's relationship evolve, even though it is moving slowly, they have such sweet little moments together. I don't think we will see a kiss soon but a confession would be nice. Lets see how it goes...

Christmas in March! unsure.gif Maybe its my limited exposure to Japanese culture, but it seems like Christmas is associated more with couples in Japan, and as far as this goes Kuronuma was set to take a big step forward with Kazehaya.

It's frustrating when she lets her non-confrontationalism run amok. This might be why I identify with her as a character though. She probably could have given Kazehaya a pickle grabber and he would have been happy just to see her out and about.

But a question for people who read the manga: Do these kids ever kiss?

From where I'm now at the manga (Act. 44), nope not yet. Read on if you want to know what has happened by now:

Kaze finally confessed but Sawako misunderstood and rejected him. But they finally got together as of Act. 42 (or 43??)

With the way the anime is going, it might be Season 2 before things really heat up.

Episode 22 had some significant progress and nice to see Kurumi back in the next episode given the preview. However, as far as I'm concerned, the series will end up getting no where now that there's only 2 episodes left. Maybe a confession will finally occur in the next episode but I feel like we'll end up being left with a rather large cliffhanger or an unsatisfying conclusion in the finale.

laugh.gif I just marathon-ed all the episodes of this which are out. It's awesome, but kind of scary how bad I want to see the next episode. It's worse than cigarettes or meth.
