Sumika Murasame is deeply in love with her cheerful classmate and friend Ushio Kazama. Ushio is openly lesbian but... she's likes cute girls, and Sumika, top student, class representative, black belt in karate, is all but cute. Even worse, Sumika herself is terrified of endangering her friendship with Ushio and chooses to maintain the status quo, as much as it pains her to hide her feelings...
Jan 8 2010 01:29 PM What to say about Sasameki Koto... It was all right. Fairly amusing at times but never overly much. Fairly dramatic at times but never overly much. Amusing characters, but none that really stand out, typified by Sumi who's internal dialogs and angsty moments ever really worked. There was some nice, if small character progression going on for Sumi and Ushio at least. The art was never meant to be knock-your-socks-off animation from the start. The music, other than a fairly nice ED, was unnoticeable. You know, there is nothing about it I can really point to and call the show bad, but I think in the end it's not something I will remember fondly in the future, if I remember it at all.
The story is not even finished, so they couldn't have completed it anyway. The anime is very well done and it's one of my favorites of the season.
Even if the manga isn't finished, having a end like that with such a waste for a final episode is very disappointing. At least, trying to have a decent ending like a confession or something like that is the minimum I think =/ Sasameki Koto was a great anime but the final episode killed my expectation to see a great ending
What an end... WHAT AN END O_O How can you finish a yuri story like that !!! I was expecting something great, a lovely ending like a confession by Ushio-chan or anything else but not that ! The last episode is just a waste of time, I'm über-disappointed !
The ending comes straight out of the manga. I think it's a nice spot to finish it, since it really drives home how Ushio and Sumika feel for each other without having them confess to each other straight away. It's very sweet. The manga is still ongoing, so if you want to see how their relationship develops, you'd better check it out.

Trust me if you search for it you'll find it and you won't be disappointed

I give 7/10 because of the ending... and will pretend for my sake that this episode didn't exist at all
Jan 1 2010 07:10 PM So here we have a series -again- in which the end destroys almost the complete series. Im very disappointed with the ending because nothing really happened. I didnt think that you can fill 20 minutes with almost nothing like shown here.
I really hope there will be a second season, but if not that series only gets a 6/10 because the ending really just sucked hard.

But I think the situation in the fanzine fest (Comiket maybe?) with Sumi whispering in Murasame's ears that she came early to see her was the best scene in this episode. Her manner to say that, it was really... well I don't know how to say it xD well I was like this smiley --> Sumi can be really attractive when she wants =p
Dec 13 2009 10:10 AM Tomoe is definitely the hottest one of the girls in this anime. Could be because she is a lot more feminine looking and dressing than the others. Her bikini was awesome and she looks really good in casual clothes too. I hope we will see a lot more of her, especially in the upcoming pool ep ^^
It was a bit gruel that after all this effort it seems that except Kazama nobody buyed the book, but it was first step to become famous.
Yeah I think we can say now that Kazama does have feelings for Sumi, she didn't look too happy about Sumi going to visit Aoi after school. Also I thought Aoi was being a bit too over dramatic this episode. Yes it sucks that she got really into a project that she thought Sumi was on board with, and to have it turn out that Sumi totally forgot about it.... BUT there is no need to cry so dramatically so that all the neighbors can hear. She should have communicated more with Sumi to make sure that they are on the same page before exerting so much effort alone. But the one good thing about Aoi is that she is helping Kazama realize her feelings for Sumi, I think. Tomoe is proving to be an awesome character, she seems to be the only one that knows whats going on around her. She's quite the observer, but her liking that annoying Miyako is a bit of a mystery to me.
Sumi can be really attractive when she wants =p
