I'm not sure when I started watching Blood+ but I think it was over a year ago. I have finally finished watching it. Quite honestly, what made me decide to watch it in the first place were all the pictures which featured a cellist. I'm a musician and cello is one of my instruments so I decided to give the anime a go purely on that basis. Well there turned out to be a lot more fighting, and blood, and monsters, and blood, and dying, and lots more blood, than musical moments; however, the addition of Diva's singing (voice is another of my instruments) was welcome. With a name like Blood+ lots of the crimson stuff was pretty much to be expected.

The incident with Riku made me shelve Blood+ for quite a few months. I almost didn't finish watching it at all but a discussion of the anime made me decide to look at a few more episodes. The latter half of the anime is very bleak. The first part is positively sunny by comparison which is certainly saying something. Despite some slow and very dismal episodes, the story developed and took some interesting turns. I found the conclusion tragic but, overall, satisfying.

Regarding the OPs ... I also liked all but the last ... the others are all on my iPod. happy.gif

As for Haji ... he looked more like an angel than a chiropteran ... perhaps that was the intention. He plays some fantastic Bach on his cello ... that's angelic enough for me. tongue.gif

is this series complete?

Sub-yes, dub - most likely no.

but yeah, I never watched AIR. I'm not saying Kaji's final form was "lame", taken in perspective it's "kinda" cool, but given all the build up from the series, all the awesome monster there were... it was very... anticlimactic.

Aww, then you didn't get the joke T___T The point is, in the end the guy turns into a crow ^__^

P.S. Not to say I think Blood+ is bad, but it is really not that great either. AND, it had some of the awesomest OP sequences (hehe look at my sig lol), except for the last one which totally blew.

seriously! I see the first intro, I think "hmm, that's cool". I see the 2nd, "whoa, that's pretty cool". I see the 3rd, "WHOAH! Awesome-sauce!!! *does a happy-dance". 4th, "what the crap?!".

I can't really be certain if Haji showed his Chiropteran form (don't really have DVD here so I can't check), but I didn't say he cant's change. Instead, he refuses to change. Is it because of the previously mentioned incident, to keep his human as close to him as possible or just to differentiate from Divas Cavaliers I can't say with complete certainty.

If I'm not mistaken, we didn't get that many shots of Solomon in his full form either.

I'm pretty sure winged-kaji was his ultimate chiropteran form, at least that's the vibe I got from watching the series. The definitely made it seem like his final form.

But yeah, all-in-all, Blood+ was pretty sweet, but I think it would have been much better as a 26 ep. series. It moved... rather slow.

The movie on the other hand...

But was anyone upset by Kajii's true form near the end?  I mean, it was pretty lame, in my standards.  You've got all these awesome super-chiropteran uber-monsters laying waste on the world, and Kajii has... nothing but crow wings???   dry.gif

But now I'm seeing it as it's broadcast in its english dub and... bleack.  I don't usually mind English voice actors, but these guys are just bad.  Gotta love the publicity, though.

Well it's better than Yukito's final form in Air XD

As for the dub, I just checked it out and it is not as bad as everyone says; not only are the main characters' voices tolerable, but there is even a hint that the guys attempted some degree of voice acting ^____^ The guy with the french accent is annoying though... AND compared to dubs for Full Metal Panic! or Lucky Star, this dub is great...

But, i still cannot understand AdultSwim's criteria for anime import... They either mutilate old classics or pick out not-so-successful but long-running series... Is mediorcity a requirement? Something I wanna know....

He has Chiropteran form, but he has a reason from the past (incident caused by Saya that made his arm "stunned" in Chiropteran form and that's why it's always covered by bandages) why he refuses to show his inhuman side.

Makes you wonder how strong he'd be if he fought with everything he has at disposal.
