Mar 12 2009 07:51 AM I'm not sure when I started watching
Blood+ but I think it was over a year ago. I have finally finished watching it. Quite honestly, what made me decide to watch it in the first place were all the pictures which featured a cellist. I'm a musician and cello is one of my instruments so I decided to give the anime a go purely on that basis. Well there turned out to be a lot more fighting, and blood, and monsters, and blood, and dying, and lots more blood, than musical moments; however, the addition of Diva's singing (voice is another of my instruments) was welcome. With a name like
Blood+ lots of the crimson stuff was pretty much to be expected.
The incident with Riku made me shelve
Blood+ for quite a few months. I almost didn't finish watching it at all but a discussion of the anime made me decide to look at a few more episodes. The latter half of the anime is very bleak. The first part is positively sunny by comparison which is certainly saying something. Despite some slow and very dismal episodes, the story developed and took some interesting turns. I found the conclusion tragic but, overall, satisfying.
Regarding the OPs ... I also liked all but the last ... the others are all on my iPod.
As for Haji ... he looked more like an angel than a chiropteran ... perhaps that was the intention. He plays some fantastic Bach on his cello ... that's angelic enough for me.
