Hazumu confessed his love to Yasuna, but was turned down. To ease his heartache, he went to Mt. Kashimayama where he'd first met her. However, he became lost and night fell. Suddenly, he saw a big shooting star in the sky. As he began to make a wish, he abruptly realised that it wasn't a shooting star, but a falling space ship! Although he was injured in the crash, he managed to survive through the help of the alien occupant. However, he became a girl due to an accident during the reconstruction of his body.

Daft's alternative summary for episode 1:

Episode 1 screenshot

Hazumu, a girly guy, has this thing for Yasuna. Even though Yasuna has feelings for him, she rejects his confession of love and sends Hazumu running off into the mountains crying (well, not really). While Hazumu's standing in this clearing, looking out into the town... this alien spaceship comes crashing down and hits Hazumu right in the face. Yes, that's right... the face. The funky aliens put their spaceship into reverse a little too late and apologize to humankind for their tiny accident. Somewhere while patching Hazumu back together, they mess up and turn him into a girl. However, nobody really cares and they send him back to Earth as-is. Tomari, the long childhood friend thats a girl and happens to have feelings for Hazumu, and Yasuna run to the place where Hazumu is getting beamed back down and catches Hazumu as he (I mean she) is being teleported back down. To Tomari's shock and Yasuna's joy, Hazumu is a girl. Nobody really cares or even tries to question the situation... and the story continues with three girls instead of two girls and one boy.

The reason why he cant return to a guy is because he was fated to die as a guy when the spaceship hit him, and when he got revived by the regeneration system looked up some other fate element and revived him as a girl,

So anyone wanna discuss who Ayuki is in love with?

I believe there's a point where she says she's in love with someone, but she says she has "decided to stay off the stage".

Could it be Hazumu? Or maybe Tomari? Yasuna?

I have absolutely no idea who ayuki is in love with, but the things she says and how shes always around tomari, and that line where Yasuna asks her why she always hangs around tomari, and she just gets that look, i believe she is in love with tomari, but shes has feelings for Hazumu

So I was looking through ANN like every other typical day and I noticed something interesting when they reviewed the Kasimasi DVD:

The dub must have been so bad they couldn't bear to review it or even watch it  laugh.gif  Actually, I don't think they even have a cast.

Media Blasters never released a dub for Kashimashi. They've done this with a few titles already, and it helps to drive down the price, which I'm not complaining about since I already ordered volumes 1 and 2 (there's only 3). XD

has the OVA out yet?
sad.gif i've searching hopelessly but havent find it

The OVA came out Oct 27 and then was first subbed by GNU (they're doing Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru now) a couple of weeks later. However, Kashimashi is now licensed, so no giving out official links; sorry.

But Yasuna dumped Hazumu, not once, but twice. She even says this herself and comments on how selfish she is.

The moment Hazumu and Tomari shared when they kissed was nice, but I'm still a bit peeved that Yasuna in the end dumped Hazumu for a second time. dry.gif

Sorry,I use the wrong word there.Hehe.Anyway,i agree with kny-san that this series definitely can't get into my top 10 favourite anime, still it's really worth our time(not a single second can be considered wasted watching it!).It sure is good if this can be a 26-episode anime. We can have Asuta and Ayako play a bit more important role for the series(and more comedic scene). But,oh well what's past is past.It turn out to be great one after all.
I give:
The series:7.5/10
OAV:9/10 tongue.gif

Well after watching the 12 Episodes I was like "WTF??"
But the OVA was awesome and it ended the story in a good way (episode12 wasn't a good ending imo)
Kashimashi definitely won't make it in my Top10 Animes, but it was fun watching it and the great OVA compensates many deficiencies from the main story.

For instance, I didn't understand the role of the father and Asuta. I think they were just implemented for cheap laughs. That's a pity, because especially Asuta would have been expendable in his character traits and in his importance for the story (I mean he is Hazumus best male buddy). But they just made Asuta a flat character.
Well, at last he gets some good scenes in the OVA where he actually says things which make sense (besides his perverted fantasies of course).

So I give the main story 6.5/10 and the OVA 9/10

Overall, it was worth watching

i think everbody that watch this anime when they got to ep 12 they jsut whent wtf if u dont wacth the ova the last makes no sense at all.
