One day, Muto Kazuki, a high school boy, saves a girl being assaulted by a big monster, but he is stabbed to death by the monster. However, the next morning, he finds he is alive. He wonders if it was just a dream but he meets the monster again and he realizes his death is real. He and his sister get into a scrape but, suddenly, a girl in the dream appears. She explains to him that the monster is a Homunculus made by alchemy. She also tells him that there is Kakugane in his chest in place of the heart. It is an alloy made by alchemy too and it is the only weapon to fight against Homunculus. Using the power of Kurogane, he beats the monster and saves his sister.

Busou Renkin is the Best anime i have watched in my history of anime i finished watching this anime in 3days just finshed watching the final episode 5 minutes ago the ending of the anime was just terrific i was crying seeing that
LoL....u need to watch more....A LOT MORE...B-Renkin was good but not "great".

There doesn't seem to be any designated date for the 2nd volume and it might be a while considering the 1st volume box set contains the first half of the show (1-13) so I assume the 2nd volume will have the 2nd half.
I can't wait. I've watched the second half with subs, but would gladly watch it again dubbed.
Just finished it today in fact. I am so grateful that I found this anime a few days ago.

yeah i absolutly love busou renkin i wish they make a secon season but i doubt cuz all the homunculus are gone but there is always the posibility of a second one and as for the you and i are one it's: "kimi to watashi wa ishin doutaj da" or something like that
I'm pretty sure that the "kimi to (w)atashi wa" part is correct, I'd point for "issun" after that, which means one.
so, it would be "kimi to (w)atashi wa issun (something) da"
doutaj can't possibly be written in japanese O.O
Would it be "doutai", which means "body"? I would agree with it... "We are one body"

Something else I've thought about, for a possible 2nd season. This may sound absurd, but Papillon DID create de white kakugane, which means he previously created a black one, no? Didn't he want to become even stronger? Immortal?

I doubt a seconds season of BR will be released, it didn't ahve enough success for that... But I would love to see it. Busou Renkin is absolutely my favourite anime series. It's funny and serious at the right time, the battles are really good, Kazuki and Tokiko's plot is great... it really sends chills down my spine.
I just want to ask one thing: Can anyone tell me what kazuki and tokiko say to each other, "You and I are one"?

Jan 7 2008 01:35 PM well back to the person behind the gas mask. some clues where given to show that it was a girl. only a lil' brother would adress his brother with sama at the end of his name. kaze no stigma showed ren called his brother ni-sama, plus her hand and body jestures also gave it away. so anywho here is a snapshot from the ending a realy good show even if there isn't an ova or a second season it's all good.

Are you asking this because it isn't listed under the Love-Romance genre here on FTV? Well I would definitely say it has strong elements of romance with Kazuki and Tokiko and I would consider love-romance a sub-genre of Busou Renkin. But is it really a big deal that it isn't listed under the love-romance genre? I mean there are so many shows that have some sort of romance in it, but those are different from shows that are primarily focused on romance. Busou Renkin is primarily focused on the action aspect and then has the romance added to the story.
